Damon P. Anagnos, MD
FACS is one of a very prestigious group of Triple
Board Certified plastic surgeons. Dr. Anagnos is
Board Certified in plastic and reconstructive surgery,
general surgery, and hand and microsurgery. Dr. Anagnos is a Fellow of the American College of
Surgeons. Dr. Anagnos is a member of the American
College of Surgeons, American Board of Plastic
Surgery, American Board of Plastic Surgery in
Subspecialty of the Hand, American Board of Surgery,
American Medical Association, NC Medical Society,
and NC Society of Plastic Surgeons.
Before moving his practice to Boone, he
practiced in the UNC Division of Plastic and
Reconstructive Surgery and taught at the UNC School
of Medicine. Dr. Damon Philip Anagnos is
formerly the Interim Chief of the UNC Division of
Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and Director of
the Center for Hand Surgery for seven
years. As a member of the UNC Department of Plastic
and Reconstructive Surgery, Dr. Anagnos taught
hundreds of medical students and trained many
resident doctors, many of whom are now board
certified plastic surgeons.
 Dr. Anagnos earned a BS in Mathematics from the
University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill in 1984.
He earned his Medical Degree at Wake Forest
University Bowman Gray School of Medicine in 1988.
Dr. Anagnos began his extensive residency at
Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia for a Surgical
Internship. Then he completed his General Surgery
Residency at Vanderbilt University in Nashville,
Tennessee. He completed his Plastic and
Reconstructive Surgery Residency at the University
of Virginia in Charlottesville, Virginia. Finally,
Dr. Anagnos was accepted as a fellow to the
prestigious Kleinert Institute for Microsurgery and
Hand Surgery.
Dr. Anagnos is married to his college sweetheart,
Madge, and has three children who are his greatest
blessings. He is an avid outdoorsman and an amateur
photographer, and he loves being in the High Country
with his family.
Dr. Anagnos is dedicated to providing the highest
standard of patient care and surgical excellence.

quality has published CONSUMERS' GUIDE TO TOP

metropolitan areas whom they would choose as a
specialist for their own families. The top five in
each region were chosen.
